The Office is created as provided for with the provisions of RA 7160, otherwise known as the Local Government Code and performs as the Think Tank of the municipality’s development.

The leader, ENGR. GASPAR A. VALDEZ – MPDC and his active team members are empowered to craft effective plans needed to strengthen the municipality and its people towards sustainable socio-economic development.

FUNCTIONAL STATEMENT

The Villaverde Municipal Planning and Development Office formulates, implements and monitors approved development plans. It also prepares comprehensive plans and other development planning documents for consideration of the Municipal Development Council.

MISSION STATEMENT

 

The Villaverde Municipal Planning and Development Office exist to prepare and formulate socio-economic and other development plans in order to attain the vision, mission and goal of the municipality.

MANDATES AND FUNCTIONS OF THE MUNICIPAL PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR

  1. Formulate integrated economic, social, physical, and other development plans and policies for consideration of the Municipal Development Council;
  2. Conduct continuing studies, researches, and training programs necessary to evolve plans and programs for implementation;
  3. Integrate and coordinate all sector plans and studies undertaken by the different functional groups or agencies;
  4. Monitor and evaluate the implementation of the different development programs, projects and activities in accordance with the approved development plan;
  5. Prepare comprehensive plan and other development planning documents for consideration of the Municipal Development Council;
  6. Analyze the income and expenditure pattern and formulate and recommend fiscal plans and policies for consideration of the Local Finance Committee;
  7. Promote peoples participation in development planning within the local government unit;
  8. Exercise supervision and control over the secretariat of the Municipal Development Council;
  9. Exercise such other powers and perform such other functions and duties as maybe prescribed by law or ordinance.

THE PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT GALLERY

The Villaverde Municipal Planning and Development Office is responsible in the preparation of various reports such as the Annual Accomplishment Report, State of Local Governance Report, Financial Report, Capacity Development Plan using the Local Governance Performance Management System (LGPMS), Comprehensive Land Use Plan, Forest Land Use Plan, Ecological Solid Waste Management Plan, various Project Proposals and reports required by other government agencies.

Moreover, this office also assists the Local Chief Executive in the implementation of the different programs, projects and activities in the municipality
